#8WTF Day 6

"There are many things we don't like in life but the benefits that they bring far outweigh the temporary discomfort." - Richard Gilmore

Any other Gilmore Girls fans in the house?

Woohoo! Are the cravings setting in yet? I had a bit of a sugar craving hit today and while I ignored it, I kind of ate more food than I planned on. But then again maybe I was just hungry. Yesterday I made Spicy Tuna Cakes from Nom Nom Paleo's book Nom Nom Paleo: Food For Humans. They are one of my favorite things from this book! Last night we also tried the Slow Cooker Chicken and Gravy and hot damn! It was a hit. We will be having more of that during this Whole30.

These tuna cakes are so yummy. Even cold! For breakfast I threw a cold one on my plate along with bacon, eggs, and avocado. So good. Lunch was four more tuna cakes. Snack was the last tuna cake, a mini pear, and half an avocado wrapped in turkey. Of course I gobbled a Larabar (gonna have to take a break from those). My dinner plate was Mediterranean Roast Chicken, sweet potato, and broccoli.

I could have taken today as a rest day but instead chose to work legs and abs. I am still in love with my roman bench. I used my medicine ball on it today and I can guarantee you I will be feeling it tomorrow. I'm calling today a success despite the extra food. It was all Whole30 and I have been getting my workouts in consistently. Progress not perfection.

Fitness Is The Best Gift

It was a very Merry Fitmas to me!

I scored new weights, new gym flooring, a roman bench/chair, an exercise ball, and a new chef's knife. All tools to help me along on my fitness journey. 2015 is it y'all!

Christmas dinner was nice and clean. Prime rib, brussel sprouts with bacon, mashed potatoes, and these gorgeous lobster tails. Maybe we got a little crazy with the butter, but hey, it is Christmas!

Today, post-Christmas booze fest, I got in a good workout and got to try out my new equipment. I focused on legs and abs and booty.

I am beyond excited about my Roman bench. It was one of my most missed pieces of equipment from when I went to the gym. The garage gym is growing. Pretty soon, my setup will be exactly what I want and need. Who needs a gym when you have a garage gym?

It's Wednesday Already?

Wow!

I just realized I have not posted since Saturday. Sorry about that.

Nothing too earth shattering to report, although I have made that quinoa and eggs dish twice since posting it. It is that amazing!

Monday morning I did 2 miles on the 'mill. Today I did a little under 3 miles on there. That thing sure is coming in handy. I'll have to remember to thank my husband about a gazillion more times.

Tuesday I did some cardio on the Wii Fit, a total of about 30 minutes. Then 3 SparkPeople videos, and let me tell you that 15 minute ab video is killer! I followed that up with some Polly yoga.

It's been a pretty light week and other than my long run scheduled for Saturday morning I don't have much else planned.

Did you have a good holiday weekend?

Did you indulge? And if so, what was your best splurge?

What Junk? What Trunk?

I've been meaning to incorporate some moves that target my backside into my routines. My once robust derrière has deflated. It needs some umpfh. Some lift. Something, anything to keep it from falling any farther than it already has. I came across this terrific little article and wanted to share in case you're having the same problems I have. I mean there is only so much running can do, and the rest is up to you.
